  • Project: Portfolio samples
  • Role: Technical Writer and Moderator/Media Relations Liason
  • Type:  Solution brief and social media communications guide
  • Format: PDF and online
  • Portfolio tools: Draw.io, Word, and Excel

Overview

This section highlights long‑form and strategic content projects, including solution briefs and community guides that demonstrate technical marketing and communications expertise. The first document is a solution brief regarding the use of AI to generate large quantities of case or document summaries, and then using SQL and NoSQL to validate the AI‑generated content, with a human reviewer handling flagged summaries.

The second document is a Q&A communications guide written to help CEOs, senior managers, and their media specialists prepare for "Ask me Anything" events. It answers the most common questions and situations while providing friendly, reassuring, and motivating guidance to help them through the experience. It enabled senior moderators to provide consistent, professional answers to AMA hosts across the social media forum..

Early in my career, I completed a public relations and marketing internship with the LPGA and worked closely with its teams to answer media inquiries and prepare editorial calendars and press releases. I used these skills in several program management and seminar roles later in my career.  As a former attorney, I also drew on planning and case‑development skills from representing clients in court and before federal agencies. Together, these experiences have honed the strategic and project‑planning skills I use today.

Key tasks I did:

  • Collected feedback from other moderators to refine guidance based on real experiences.

  • Analyzed AMA instructions from other communities and adapted best practices to fit policy and compliance needs.

  • Drafted the guide after collaborating with my team.

What I learned:

  • Applied prior event management experience to anticipate and resolve verification, rule compliance, and eligibility issues.

  • Recognized that successful AMAs with business leaders depend on moderators’ awareness of executive concerns.

Impact:

  • Successfully landed hosts from leading device and streaming service companies who were CEOs and senior executives.

  • Successfully managed six AMAs in three years as a senior moderator, using this guide as the standard reference.

  • Helped the moderators understand the legal implications of protecting personally identifiable information (PII) for hosts and their teams, and built safeguards into the guide.
